Following the successful trade gatherings in China in this fiscal year, ASMI China held one more trade seminar/ gathering in Hong Kong on Nov. 8, 2013. 1. 40 Hong Kong seafood traders including importers, distributors and retailers were invited for the seminar. Ms. Alexa Tonkovich, ASMI International Program Director, provided the opening remark, followed by the speech by Mr. Randy Rice, ASMI Technical Director, then gave a detailed presentation on Alaska seafood production and species; sustainability, RFM and chain of custody, etc. The gathering successfully helped build up connection between local suppliers and buyers as well as ASMI and local seafood trades.
Followed by the seminar was a dinner. Mr. Erich Kuss, Director of ATO Hong Kong was presented and delivered a welcoming speech before the dinner began. The dished made from Alaska seafood including king crab, black cod and Pacific cod were served to the attendees. All the attendees were impressed and intrigued by Alaska seafood market information especially some technical aspects.
