On September 23, 2015, the Suncity Restaurant in Jiaxing became the venue for the 2015 American Seafood Chef Competition & Lunch. Over 50 competitors from Zhejiang’s best hotels and restaurants, such as Hangzhou’s Xizi Hotel, West Lake State Guest House, Radisson Hotel and more participated in the event. This competition is themed around creating traditional Zhejiang cuisine using American seafood, and the competitors had to showcase their full repertoire to create a total of over a hundred unique dishes.
This competition has allowed these chefs to expand their horizon and learn the different characteristics of American seafood, among which Alaska yellowfin sole was one of the key products. Through this event, Alaska seafood has made a strong impression on the market in Zhejiang as well as Zhejiang’s famous culinary culture.
