Spring Festival is a 5,000 year old tradition for the Chinese. As consumers work to continually improve their quality of life, seafood has become an annual holiday gift staple and feature. This holiday, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Association (ASMI) has partnered with JD.COM for an online promotion aimed at bringing Alaska seafood to China. ASMI chose to work with JD.COM because of its strength in cold chain logistics, the fastest way to bring the seafood to consumers. The online promotion was successful. In addition to Alaska cod, Black Cod, and Pollock, the promotion also brought Alaska Red Fish, Rock Fish, and other varieties to the masses. All of these seafood varieties are low in fat and calories, a high source of protein and good for people’s health.
