Guangzhou is still a key city to target for Alaska Seafood as consumers enjoy their seafood dishes. As part of the Marriott Group, along with being ranked a five-star hotel, the China Hotel is a luxury accommodation for anyone traveling to Guangzhou. Over 3MT of Alaska seafood have been used so far in the menu promotions at the China Hotel in Guangzhou, running from March 2nd – May 10th, 2009. The successful results of the activity are already apparent with sales already has gone doubled. An advertisement was also placed in the Guangzhou Daily newspaper to boost attention of the event. The customer demand has been very strong though, forcing the hotel to increase the order volume of each product. The chef has mentioned that the high-end products still remain the most popular, especially black cod. The entire range of products featured for the promotion includes Alaska sockeye salmon, halibut, black cod and Pacific cod. Due to the strong consumer demand, the hotel has already stated that it will keep the products for long term use, and specifically name dishes with “Alaska Seafood” as such.
