On November 14, a Chef Seminar was hosted by ASMI China in Shanghai to further educate the local chefs about Alaska seafood so as to increase the application of Alaska seafood in the foodservice sector in China.
Totally 50 chefs and purchasing professionals attended this seminar. All of them are from high-end hotels and restaurants in Shanghai or surrounding cities. A 6-course menu was developed by a guest chef in advance and recipe booklets were printed to be distributed at the seminar. The cooking processes of 6 courses were demonstrated by the guest chef on site. The chefs were also taught how to handle Alaska seafood properly.
