Chef Seminar in Qingdao and Beijing

ASMI China regularly organizes chef seminars to educate chefs from local hotels and restaurants on Alaska seafood as well as help influence the increase of usage in the foodservice sector. With a successful seminar already held in Shanghai this fiscal year, ASMI organized another seminar in Qingdao and Beijing on May 12 and May 27, 2014. Over 50 chefs and purchasing staffs from high-end hotels and restaurants attended each seminar. At the seminar, representative from ASMI China gave a presentation on Alaska seafood. After the presentation, a guest chef was invited to demonstrate a 7-course menu featuring Alaska seafood, helping the attendees to learn about the proper handling and cooking of the products, which featured sockeye salmon, black cod, Pacific cod, yellowfin sole, snow crab and pollock roe. Alaska sea cucumber was the first time to be featured at Beijing’s event. Following the demo, these dishes were prepared and served to the guests for tasting.
