The chef seminar on May 22nd at Hong Kong’s Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel had over 40 chefs in attendance. The event attendees included chefs were from local high-end hotels and restaurants, as well as some seafood traders. This event was the first of its kind for ASMI China in Hong Kong. The representatives from ASMI China gave a short speech and introduction of Alaska seafood to the attendees. The master chef in charge of the instructions and cooking demonstrations was famous Chef Lars Kronmark from the Culinary Institute of America. The event was well received as Chef Lars’ cooking skills highly impressed the attendees. After the attendees were able to sample the dishes and learn the various ways to prepare Alaska seafood, many spoke highly of the product and were very interested in learning more about the cooking methods from Chef Lars or about the market situation of Alaska seafood in China from ASMI China staff. All attendees received information materials along with a recipe book of Chef Lars’ dishes.
