Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute’s Dinner Reception in Qingdao

October 31 2006, that evening ASMI conducted Alaska seafood trade reception at the Shangri-La Hotel. It was a well attended event, with approximately 140 visitors. The majority of the attendees were the real buyers from Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian other than

Qingdao a wide variety of Alaska seafood was on display at the event; attendees were served a broad selection of products, including king crab, snow crab, black cod, king salmon and smoked sockeye salmon. Opening statements were provided by Agricultural Minister Maurice House, ATO Beijing Director Laverne Brabant and ASMI Executive Director Ray Riutta. A presentation about Alaska seafood and the Alaska seafood industry was provided by ASMI International Program Director KC Dochtermann. Videos about the Alaska seafood industry, as well as the recent show about Alaska that was broadcast on Shanghai TV was also aired during the event.

The event was considered greatly successful and the night was certainly a memorable night.
