During Wal-Mart’s (China) 10-year anniversary celebration, a “Great American Food Festival” was launched in 32 major stores in 17 cities including Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Dongguan, Dalian, Nanjing, and Wuhan, from August 5th to 20th, 2006. ASMI was one of the participants in this activity. This was the first national “Great American Food Festival” at Wal-Mart China. Opening ceremonies were hosted in the three main cities, Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen.
During the activity, Alaska seafood POS materials were specially produced and distributed. The well-decorated Alaska booth was extremely eye catching with Alaska table tents, posters and buntings. Alaska wild salmon, king crab, snow crab, black cod and sole were the featured products. ASMI logo identification stickers were put on product packages. Alaska seafood recipe books, newly produced mugs and flashing buttons were distributed to those who purchased Alaska seafood.
It was reported that this promotion at Wal-Mart stores not only boosted Alaska seafood sales tremendously but also increased consumer awareness regarding its wild and natural characteristics.
