ASMI China teamed up with JW Marriott Hong Kong to launch an Alaska Seafood Festival in the JW’s California Sushi Bar from July 12 to August 8, 2008. Alaska king salmon, black cod, halibut, king crab and snow crab were highlighted on a specially developed menu. For further exposure, an advertisement was placed in Eat & Travel Weekly, special flyers were printed and an EDM (email direct mailing) produced in conjunction with the promotion. In addition, JW Marriott Hotel held a press dinner prior to the promotion in order to help showcase the activity. From the pre-activity press dinner, there were many well known media members in attendance, which made it successful. After the press dinner, media such as Sing Tao Daily, reported on the activity. ASMI China is also hoping to encourage the hotel to carry Alaska seafood on their regular menu and therefore use it on a long-term basis.
