On January 12, 2018, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Association and Sam’s Club partnered to launch a promotion “Alaska Seafood Tasting Event”, bringing high-quality seafood from Alaska to 19 Sam’s Club stores across China. The promotion ran from January 12 to February 9 and featured Black Cod, King Crab, cod, Yellow Fin Sole and more. At the same time, there was a chef stationed at each store to help prepare seafood samples, allowing consumers to taste the magic of Alaska.
The first boat of the beginning of the fishing season, starts with King Crab, which is caught at minus 18 degrees Celsius, and then stored in ultra-low temperature conditions to bring you maximum freshness.
When you first taste the crab, you are greeted by salty sea flavors and then comes a welcome sweetness that can be accentuated by various sauces, which is refreshing and delicious.
This year marks the 21st year Sam’s Club stores have entered the China market, adhering to a member first philosophy and serving over 1.8 million members. As food safety concerns grow among consumers, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Association launched an RFM project in 2010 to ensure seafood could be traced back to the Alaska seafood supply chain. Sam’s Club also understands consumers concerns and demand for high-quality product, using global resources to better bring quality American Alaska seafood to members, so that members can truly experience a “better life with Sam’s Club.”
